Out & About

On Saturday my husband and I decided to drive to Berkeley { its in cute little city a few miles outside San Francisco } and Emeryville for a little looking around and shopping. I was really excited about going to the Crate & Barrel Outlet hoping to find some deals.

First up we grabbed a cup of coffee, and began on walk along 4th Street checking out some great stores. We stopped in CB2, its the first time I've been in a CB2 (they only have 4 stores in California) the store did not disappoint. I love the modern fun vibe the store has.

We both really like these metal shelves to hold wine bottles and glasses. The shelves would look great above a buffet to create more of a bar vibe, or stacked on top of each other. I'm already thinking about some minor tweaks to our dining room, we like to drink wine and need a place to store it.

We also like the large art print, the colors work so well with our living room.

Next we popped over the Crate & Barrel Outlet, they had some any great kitchen finds, but we both agreed to focus on bedroom and decor finds. The outlet had so many amazing bedding deals, but they were the wrong colors. If there's not a Crate & Barrel Oulet near you, make sure you shop the outlet online.

We went into the furniture section and saw so many great deals, from dining room chairs to coffee tables and more. The main thing that caught my eye was the Meryl Floor lamp. Unfortunately I didn't find anything and the outlet, I'm sure we'll go back in a few months after summer and score some summer deals.

Next we stopped in a Restoration Hardware, and looked at Hardware! lol I've been in Restoration Hardware several times and didn't realize the sell house numbers. I love the size of their house number, they are a substantial 4 to 6 inches in height. I'd love to swap out our perfectly good house numbers for these giant ones, but they might look funny on our little rancher.

Before heading to a late lunch we made  stop in Z Gallerie. Call me odd, but its fun to shop in stores that aren't near your house, because some stores carry more more items than our local store does.

After lunch we stopped in West Elm, I checked out their clearance section but didn't find any good scores like last weekend. Sorry no pics, got lost in the "I love this store glow." I did however fall in love with the mini parson desk for our third bedroom/mini office/maybe a baby's room?? If the third bedroom evolves into a room, the mini desk could easily be moved to another spot in our house.

Well that wraps up our shopping trip, nope I didn't find any must haves - but I did buy a new maxi dress! Did you find any 'must haves' over the weekend?

Nothing Neutral about these Plates

Remember last month when I won The Yellow Front Door's giveaway from AllModern.com...well just in time for Christmas my I ordered arrived. While I was searching AllModern.com for the perfect item from my home I came across the perfect little plate set. I fell in love with the Blue Flora from notNeutral. All my everyday dinnerware is all white; the blue plates are the perfect pop of color on our table for salads or deserts. The plates were packaged in pretty box and came with notNeutral catalog.

{ What was the holdup sharing these beauties? Well my husband and son thought these are everyday plates! Everytime I looked around they were in the dishwasher. I finally snagged them and put them in the buffet }

I checked out notNuetral's website and came across some cute finds for the home, their style reminds me of CB2. www.notneutral.com

That settee with the gold leaf wood amazing I love the combination of the modern pillows and orange wall. Talk about Drama....the good kind

Holiday Shopping

Have you been to your local Dollar Tree store lately? If not you'll be amazed by all the great holiday ornaments they have. The have a great selection of traditional holiday ornaments and contemporary color ornaments: whites, gold’s, silver and purple and much more. I picked up a box of delicate glass ornaments with snowflakes on them. For Christmas we love decorating our house in silver, white and teal blue. I was really happy to find they had our colors! I also found some simple teal blue and silver ball ornaments and some snowflakes.

My favorite find of the day are these little white birds! There are so cute, I might have to go back and get some more. I also picked up a white styrofoam wreath for a DIY holiday wreath.

Keep it Level

One of my biggest pet peeves is hanging pictures straight. For me getting pictures to hang level is one of my biggest challenges, I second guess myself when our little level says everything fine. For the longest time we used a simple small 12 inch level got us along just fine while we loved in an apartment. But hanging anything like floating shelves that hidden brackets more 12 inches apart creates a problem.Prefect to mark holes

Last night while Mr. CHL and I were at Wal-Mart I stopped in the tools clearance section. I'm always looking for a good deal! I came a across a clearance level that is special. Yes levels can be special! This level is made from Black & Decker it’s called the Accu Mark Gecko Grip - say that three times fast. The first thing I love about this level is the size its 36 inches - long that's three feet of creating a perfect line. It has a great level mark, where you can make perfect mark the surface where you’re hanging. There have been so many times I've made a mark to hang something, only to find out one side is not even...so frustrating.

Another great feature I like about this level is the grip assists, you longer have to worry about a level scraping your painted walls. My husband and I went to pay for our item and found out the level was on clearance for $16.00 great price (there was no price on the level). Levels that size are easily $24 and up.

We debated whether or not we should buy the laser level, but decided against it, we didn't want to worry about replacement batteries or it getting lost (they are the size of tape measures, which always get lost in our home).

We have a few hanging projects to do this weekend, I can’t wait to sue this special level, and take action shots of us hanging up some great buys I found to spruce up our entryway.

So many uses

Shopping

Yesterday my girlfriend and I spent the day shopping at two Home Goods / TJ Maxx stores. I found some great decor items and good prices. Happy Dance.

In a few days my entryway will be done, I can't wait to see how it turns out and share the details. I also found more items for our dining room!
